TEA CEREMONY & SOUND

Join Mel Nahas and Guillermo Martinez in an intimate tea ceremony and sound session. This special session will interweave Guillermo's sacred flute in harmonic prayer with The Way of Tea.

Like the tea leaf unfurling in water, the ritual of tea ceremony and the way of tea infinitely reveals layers of self, our connection to nature and others. Woven together by a symphony of the elements, tea is served bowl by bowl by Conscious City Guide co-founder Mel Nahas in the tradition of teacher, Wu De, and his school of Cha Dao and Zen meditation, Tea Sage Hut, in Taiwan.

Mel shared – “Tea has profoundly changed my life and it is my honor to share this practice with you, in reverence to the elements and in giving to the center and teachers who nourish my practice so they may continue to share the Way of Tea with others.”

For over 35 years Guillermo Martinez, founder of Quetzalcoatl Music has been making and playing custom Native American and Mesoamerican instruments at his magical abode on ancient Tongva land in the Santa Ana Mountains. Over the years, through apprenticeship with several practiced and generous teachers he learned to use and honor the gifts from the Earth and to make them sing.

Guillermo shared – "My intention with every instrument I make is for it to open the heart of its user, to help them transform on a very deep level. I'm honored to help people explore themselves through these sacred instruments."
